// About

An AI studio
with a standard.

Anomalist Enterprise LLC is an Indiana-incorporated AI studio building products, shipping consulting and applied-AI engagements, and putting AI-native tools in the hands of small businesses and curious individuals.

We work across three surfaces — a portfolio of our own products, a consulting practice that teaches teams to use AI well, and a client studio for custom websites and AI-native applications. Every engagement is run by the same operators who build our products. No subcontracted middle layer.

The work spans private beta (Atlas / MentorForge, Berea, Compass, Delta) and active build (Maximus). The list is intentionally tight — we'd rather ship a small number of products carefully than a long catalog without standards.

// Principles

How we work — when nobody's watching.

01

Operators, not consultants

Anomalist Enterprise runs its own AI products. The patterns we recommend to clients are the patterns we use ourselves — because the ones we use are the only ones we'll vouch for.

02

Substance over surface

The surface of a product is part of its substance. We design it as if a serious person is going to use it daily — because that's the only kind of user worth designing for.

03

Honest about scope

We say no to engagements where the work isn't real, the scope is inflated, or the partner doesn't need us yet. The 'no's are part of the standard, not exceptions to it.

04

Built to keep working

Every product and engagement gets the unglamorous middle layer — security, observability, recovery, maintenance hand-off — built in from the start, not bolted on after launch.

// Operators

The people behind the work.

Two complementary operators run the studio. The same people who answer your email build the product, write the docs, and stay on call after launch.

Engineering & Operations

Christopher McElwain

Owns the engineering side of every product and engagement — architecture, security, deployment, the parts that have to keep working when nobody's looking. Self-taught, builds for the kind of seriousness software used to be made with.

Brand & Customer

Thomas Grimm

Owns the surface of every product — voice, design, content, customer truth. Has the rare instinct of knowing when a product is actually ready vs. when it just looks ready.

Got a problem worth solving?

We take a small number of partner projects each year — the ones where the problem is real and the work is worth a long memory.
